Jun 22 @ 9:00 am – 5:00 pm

Close your eyes and imagine what life was like in Tippecanoe County in the 1860s. Downtown Lafayette was a major military camp where Indiana regiments were organized, and where more than 700 Confederate prisoners were confined. Step back into time as TCHA hosts a Civil War living history event at the Tippecanoe Battlefield on June 22nd. The battlefield will be filled with demonstrations of military drill and activities from living historians portraying Indiana Union soldiers as well as those portraying Confederate prisoners. There will also be special programs on various topics related to the Civil War and Tippecanoe County. This program is free to the general public.
